Newly paid up member Simon Jantke got his monies worth last Saturday when he won the Stableford competition with 41 points.
With fairways heavy and not with a lot of run didn't seem to deter C Grader Simon, who finished with 41 points, also picking up the Maidment's meat voucher with the best back nine total points of 21.
Having won the day from Kooka, surly both will have the handicapper looking at them.
With the championships all finished and the celebrations slowing down, it was forty seven starters for the day to play in the stableford competition, incorporating rounds of the Captains Cup and Formby Shield.
The club also welcomed players from Port Augusta who were on a health kick, as they played on several courses for the weekend, one of them C. Munn winning the nearest the pin on the seventeenth.
The A Grade winner of the day was president Randall Pitt on 35 on a count back from Sean Naylon.
Reckon Randall might have been a bit more relaxed as he didn't have his usual side kick DK riding around in his cart to hinder him, Derek preferring to annoy Tim Formby earlier in the day.
For Sean, well your luck has to change soon after being runner up in the A Grade championships as well, perhaps you need something stronger than bottled water to give you a winning lift.
Wonder if Red Sorrell was making a point to the handicapper after being dumped back to B Grade, as he won that grade on Saturday with 35 points, from new B Grade champion Jamie McPhee on 34 points, who found trees and had trouble off the tee block to start with, much to the laughter of his playing partners Gordy, before settling down.
It was a carbon copy of the C Grade championship finish when Kooka picked up 40 points on the day to beat Peter McNulty on 39 points, as they both continued their good form.
Brian Simpson was back in action on Saturday and still determined to visit the hobbits home in the tree on the fifth, luckily the hobbit shut the door on him again, as his second shot came knocking.
Dave Klenke felt great walking to the first tee, and did his partners, son Graham, Kooka and Ian Schroeter, after Dave's exhibition in teeing off provided them with plenty to laugh at, even after the round.
Dave addressed his ball, swung through with his shot, only to hit the ball into the ground in front of him to see the ball bounce straight back behind him about a meter.
Very embarrassed Dave hit his next shot to the corner, on the green in four and with two putts still picked up a point.
This Saturday is a Par round sponsored by Wittwer and Williams of Taylors Lane.
